Money for Morphs

My parents said I could get a ball python at the how, and I was wondering, what are the cheapest morphs?

The very cheapest morphs (at last here in the UK) are not that much more than a wild type. The question is what doo you want a morph for? If it's just as as pet choose one you like the look of.

If it's for breeding you'll need to research genetics you see what combination of genes produce what morph offspring. This is an area outside of my knowledge as I don't like morphs. One thing to bear in mind is you're not going to produce valuable offspring from cheap parents.

Indeed in my opinion you shouldn't by any snake because it is cheap (or expensive for that matter). You should buy it because you like it and it interests you.

Have a look on something like world of ball pythons and find some morphs you really like then see how much they are and take it from there.

If you're thinking about breeding do it for the passion, not the money as you're unlikely to make any.

You may want to check out the defects and issues with some of the morphs out there. The Spider Wobble is probably the most publicized genetic defect in ball pythons and also one the most highly defended. You can Google ball python morph issues and you will find lists describing the known issues. This list grows larger on a frequent basis.

Not really but sure. "frequent".

There's no "defect" to stop someone from owning a quality pet. Spider included.

Cheapest morphs are:

Pastel
Mojave
Lesser
Yellowbelly
Cinnamon
Black Pastel

Males of these are pretty much given away

Desert females are pretty affordable too as they cannot be used for breeding. Sharp-looking snakes, if you're just looking for a pet. Normally females cost more than males though.

Fire is a nice basic morph too and not much more than a normal. For that matter, I think normals are pretty good-looking. Many people dismiss them as plain and breeders often have them running out of their ears (I got my normal girl thrown in for free with a banana cinnamon male that I had paid a pretty penny for). However there's nothing at all wrong with a normal if you find one that appeals to you.

I agree that you should go with what you like, within reason. I would love a panda pied but my pockets are not deep enough.
