Purple albino vs Mochino
As the title states what is the difference?
I aquired a young purple but I came across mochino
On Bob Clarks Web page and can't see any difference.
What genetics play into the Mochino?

Re: Purple albino vs Mochino
I don't know what the genetics are, but the colour difference is very noticeable. Maybe it's one of things like colour change in the caramels/blondes from hatchling to adults
Here's a Mochino, not my pic just took it off Google search
I have just uploaded these images:

Re: Purple albino vs Mochino
My purple looks way more mochino If I compare to Bob Clarks. Your photo is definetly differant than a purple albino. I'll see after a few more sheds. Only paid 250 for it so either way I'm a happy camper.
Picture attached is a cruddy phone shot.

Re: Purple albino vs Mochino
Glad I don't live out that way, or I'd be tempted.
Anyway, that snake is giving the side-on look like it's thinking, "it's about 18in to your face...so just a little bit further, and...".

Re: Purple albino vs Mochino
That's what I wa's thinking after its first shed.
Seemed a bit dark to me. Love the title guy either way.
First morph of any snake I've ever had so pretty excited.

Re: Purple albino vs Mochino
Mochino, (some) purples, orange glows, blondes and renick ghosts all can look a little similar. In fact purples are related to most of them (I use related losely). Basically a mochino is an albino and a het. The trait is carried on the same alleli in its genetics. So an albino and a mochino would make half mochino half albinos. They are all very similar and have very slight variations. Personally I can barley tell a difference between Mochino and OG but most def can tell them from a purple. Age is a huge factor on telling these morphs apart as they often make similar looking babies. Any idea on the pairing of the parents? I agree you have a VERY dark purple and regardless hit the jack pot! Unless you find out the parents genetics or plan on breeding; it would hard to prove out the genetics. None the less that is one killer purple.
