Can my corn snake have an IKEA detolf cage?

I'm planning on making the IKEA detolf cage for my hamster, and was wondering if my 5 foot corn snake could have it once she dies?

If it's properly suited to a hamster its unlikely to be suited to a snake but pictures or a link to a similar build would help.

"WARNING! This cage is NOT SUITABLE IF YOU HAVE OTHER PETS, i.e. cats that can reach the cage, as it has no lid. Bigger pets than dwarf hamsters can also climb out." This is what the website said about it, so I do not think so. Best of luck with your snake though!

If you make a snake proof lid and make sure there are no cracks anywhere, I don't see why not.

As long as it's modified to be safe for the snake, you have a way to provide the right warm and cooler spots, and it's clean and the appropriate size, I think you can make a lot of cages work. Do not underestimate the ability of a snake to escape a cage though!
