Don't you just hate it when
You go and stroke your boas and they don't move?
Every time I stroke some of my boas they just don't move ,flick the tongue or generally acknowledge you,it makes my heart sink every time just in case they have passed away. I presume there sleeping or just used to being handled and totally relaxed.
Does any body else's snakes do that and it makes your heart sink

Re: Don't you just hate it when
Most of my snakes are hook trained so they don't overreact to being touched but I'm sure I'd be shocked/shook if one of them didn't move when I disturbed it. I usually see signs of life beforehand though. Must be nice to have such a chilled out critter. Mine are pretty docile too but I don't quite trust a couple of them.

Re: Don't you just hate it when
Yeah this has haopened to me to the point where I've yelled out to my husband while crying and he's almost killed himself getting to the room, only to find out the boa was asleep. Be happy you have chill snakes. I have some that are nocturnal that literally keep me up all night. The boas have always been laid back for us though

Re: Don't you just hate it when
Same here with most of mine being hook trained.... My brb can be very stubborn with not wanting to move when disturbed tho, litterally plays dead untill I lift her up

Re: Don't you just hate it when
I expect that from my rosy boa. I don't worry much. It's all the other not chill snakes that freak me out occasionally and some of them I don't want to poke unnecessarily. The desert king I'm always about ready to consider dead because he burrows and does not come out for days and then only at night. If you aren't paying attention at the right time you might not see him for over a week. Sometimes a few fuzzies rot on the feeding rock before he gets to them and I give up feeding until he gets hungry enough he's cruising the tank or a shed appeared last time. I threaten monthly to start dragging the substrate for a body.
