Head nodding??

I noticed something strange... My new adult male sometimes nods his head up and down for 30 seconds or so. He seems totally fine otherwise, but I was wondering if anyone knew what the problem might be? Jerking heads can never be good I hope it isn't serious!

Thanks
Zoe

Hey Zoe!

I haven't really noticed this behaviour in any of my males... but as you are aware, my Panther must be gay as he showed no interest in your beautiful girl!

Funny enough... after I read this post last night, I was checking on the Verrucosus and noticed the same head nodding thing. I can only assume that it is a territorial display as my guy was able to see the other male Verrucosus at the time....

I've seen your Panther and he looks totally healthy to me!

Cheers!

Trace

I don't know to much about Chams but maybe its the same as Green Iguanas...they head bob for many reasons, one being territorial. If I walk past the cage, I get a bob. Iguanas don't usually start bobbing until they have reached sexual maturity so maybe it does have something to do with that.

That's great to know, thank you!! I was worried it was a nervous twitch or something.

Thanks
