Loud and clear
I think I got the message today. Nigel, my new olive python, had been pretty chill since he arrived on Wednesday. I knew he hadn't eaten in 10 days but I was waiting for my feeder order to arrive next week before attempting to feed him. That was until he snapped at the glass when I walked by today. I figured that was his way of saying, "feed me now human!". I found the smallest jumbo mouse in the freezer and thawed it for him. A few hours later and he's a happy camper again.

Re: Loud and clear
At least it didn't give you any issues with feeding. My Cribo does the glass striking when it's hungry. I'm always afraid it will get hurt.

Re: Loud and clear
My everglades rat snake was doing the same thing today. Poor old man only gets feed every 2 weeks, and being a rat snake, well, you know...

Yellow tail cribo is on my list of snakes to get. Absolutely beautiful.

Re: Loud and clear
Nigel was snapping at the glass again last night but he's really chill once I get him out of his enclosure. I had to do some spot cleaning today so I snapped some quick pics.

Re: Loud and clear
Ziggy, I know you said you weren't picking for pretty, but that snake is very pretty. He should be gorgeous when he's an adult.

Re: Loud and clear
Thanks all. I love how smooth, sleek, and iridescent his scales are. Somedays he's got a deep olive green color and other days he looks more brownish. It's cool working with a new species too. He acts a lot like my carpets but a bit more active. My carpets tend to perch mostly in one spot. The olive moves from spot to spot more often.
