Incoming carpet?
Been in touch with one of the top UK python breeders to see if they have anything special in at the moment and he tipped me off they have some Julatten Cheynei's in.
For those that are not familiar these are a naturally occurring wild type jungle carpet that look axanthic but in fact are a 'normal' phase.
In discussions about a deposit on one for them to hold until I move house

Thanks Jim - not 100% done deal yet and they also have some pure Julatten zebras so waiting for a photo on those as well before I make decision. The zebras though are considerably more expensive and not strictly a 'wild type' but are pure locality.

Thanks Sattva. Yes I love my current carpet - great snake. I never really considered getting one until my IJ came up and couldn't pass on it!

Yes they do Dave and as I say this is a naturally occurring colour phase which is why I'm do taken by it. Not too horrifically expensive either.
Not cheap bit not daft at around £500.

Re: Incoming carpet?
Beautiful critter Danny. You can't go wrong with any carpet IMO. We don't see many of the Julattens here in the States. They're gorgeous animals. I haven't seen the Julatten zebras but I can imagine. I also like the axanthics and axanthic jags. Those prices are pretty comparable to those in the US. Keep us posted on your selection.

I do have the option of an axanthic IJ or a jag but you know me-if I can get a normal phase then I'd prefer that and theses are so pretty!
I think you've heard of Paul Harris? These are bred by him so top quality stock.

Re: Incoming carpet?
Aaaahhhh that snake is beautiful. Do you know how old it will be? I kind of selfishly want you to get it just so I can see more pictures and live vicariously through you.

This is just a stock photo-not my actual intended purchase - apparently the current ones are even more stunning! Just waiting for photos.
It'll be a CB16 so no more than a year old. It's a pretty nailed on purchase to be honest! These don't come up too often and I can't see me resisting!

If I hadn't read the details...if someone were to tell me that one was a jungle and not an IJ, i'd be confused. Very cool!

Very very cool! Just hoping my mum's house sells tomorrow as planned and then I'll be making a phone call!
