I want a garter snake :)

Ok doing research on garters. I have decided I do want a garter snake
I've been looking every where I can reading up on them and I have an empty tank just calling a snake.

All I see around here are the albino ones, I am not a big fan of that particular color morph. So any info about heating lighting anyone can input would be greatly appreciated! I know what I've read here and there but would like input from those who actually have them.
Thanks!!

Well, if you don't mind dropping $200 there are some nice neon blue cali red sided babies available on fauna right now. I believe the seller is Jeff Benfir or something...I dunno. But that is ny dream garter right there!

Albert on here is a breeder as well and I believehe has some pretty nice babies now, and is expecting nicer ones soon.I'm sure he'll chime in soon =)

Thanks Mink, for mentioning me as a potential resource for Pogie.

Hey Pogie, I have some beautiful female pastel checkered garters right now. 2 females. These girls are het for granite checkered and they will take just about any appropriate food you offer them. Pm me. If you are going to house in a tank, you will need a thermostat to control your warm side heating element. Typically garters are very easy to keep at temps of 78f - 82f average ambient and cool side. Their basking temp at the warm side can be 86f safely. Hides and foliage is alo pretty much required.

Minkness, Jeff has a few neon blue CRS babies left if you move quickly. He even has a couple of unrelated male / female pairs.

Re: I want a garter snake :)

I will have some Calif. red sideds later this year. Probably in the fall 2016. More than likely I will have some Oregon red spotteds in about 2 months. T.S.Concinnus (red classification).

As much as I want to, this house tapped me out. I will have to wait till next year.
