2016 Pac man...

Hey community, this past Sunday was the Long Island Reptile Expo and I got there a bit late. Of course I had my mind set on a couple of things only. Show was in full effect and crowded. Everything from invertebrates to large carpet pythons and boas but no venomous or giants. I did a lot of walking, talking and looking. I did pick up some live feeders but the ball python I was looking for no vendor had. So I decided to surprise my better half with something she has wanted for a long time. Lol.

Re: 2016 Pac man...

This pac man is known as a four spot. He/ she came from a reputable breeder who told me you can't determine the sex for about 5 or 6 months. So we have it on quarantine in a 1 at. Tub until we get the 5 gallon upgrade and supplies. The little guy took a mouse pinky the next morning with a bit of hesitation. Downed it quick , fast and in a hurry.

Thanks AG, the breeder had so many morphs to choose from. I picked this guy bc it looked a bit different from pac man frogs I have seen in the past. It also looked like a color wifey would want.

Probably the iPad camera. It's actually like a tannish to very light brown.

Awesome, I've been considering one of these myself. I'll be looking forward to how he/she comes along!

Thank you H, this guy was a reputable breeder who specializes in pac man and pixie frogs. He had a awesome display.

Thanks jp, well I think they are very interesting and relatively simple to keep.

Well Mink, this was a gift to my wife and the frog was almost lavender looking and I thought she would dig the color. There were strawberrys, pineapples, greens, browns and four spots and so many others.

Re: 2016 Pac man...

Oh, wifey named the frog a unisex name. Jordan. Everyone says Pac-Man frogs are just sit there and don't move types but this guy is pretty active. Maybe bc he/ she is young. And it can jump pretty high also. Haha.

Ooooh, we need more pics for sure then!

I was always interested pac mans but as you mentioned, most people say they just sit there, so they are just a 'oooh...so cool!' Kinda thing for me lol.

Looking forward to updates on Jordan!

Also, how fast do these guys grow?

These guys basically feed on frog food which can be purchased at pet stores or a frog breeder may also sell it. The food gets mixed with water and is and then formed to be edible. They also eat crickets, roaches, and wax worms, nightcrawlers and mice. Very large variety of things are accepted by pac man frogs.

Oh, I plan on posting more pics definitely. I think as adults, as their weight increases, makes them more sedentary. The extra weight also hampers their jumping abilities. Pac man frogs have very large mouths and stomachs. I will be updating. Lol.
