planted crestie tank failures. Need help

So I've had a few problems keeping my plants alive. I've had pathos and crotons. The crotons seem to wilt very quickly especially near the Mister so I tried blocking the spray with fake plants. I've upgraded my lighting so I now have a dual t5ho 24" fixture and my old t8 fixture. I thought the brighter light was my missing component. What are good plants for a crestie tank that can handle being misted (only set for 2 5 second mists a day). Ideally plants that are leafy and strong enough for a crested gecko but anything that will live is good lol

It's a 24x18x24 exo terra with clay ball drainage layer, soil/cypress mix.

My Brown thumb strikes again always do poorly keeping plants alive.
