Albino Grey

She isn't all that see through anymore and her color is starting to change. She really was tiny when she came in and still isn't all that big!

Re: Albino Grey

She is an albino grey rat snake. She still has some attitude on her don't be fooled by the pretty pink color lol. She is calming down as she gets older but she still strikes occasionally. The hissing and tail rattling doesn't happen as much at least. She only gave a couple seconds of tail rattling when I took her out yesterday.

Re: Albino Grey

thanks for the info. is a rat snake in the same family as a rattle snake since you mentioned tail rattling? do some snakes just do that as a defensive mechanism? i guess i'm spoiled since mac is so docile. right now he's a docile lump-expecting a shed any day now.

A large number of North American snakes will vibrate their tail as a defensive display when they feel threatened. I once came across a black rat snake basking on a dead tree, about 5-6' off the ground. I reached for it, and then stepped back for a moment when it started buzzing its tail against the dead wood. Made quite a loud noise, surprised me. I'd heard about it but that was my first encounter in person, lol. When I did pick it off the tree it didn't strike or bite, surprisingly good-natured for a 4-5' wild rat snake, all bluff and no bite.

Re: Albino Grey

Riddick,

Nice to see some more pics of your Grey. My boy is coming along nicely. He's the white oak phase, het for albino and is starting to turn a little pink it's the darndest thing. He's probably my favorite in my collection right now. Just curious and doesn't mind being handled at all

Yours is looking great! How old is she now? Mine is at 18 grams and will take a peach fuzzy but I'm keeping him on large pinks for another shed as he had some trouble with the fuzzy. I can't wait to see how her colors develop! All the best.
