New shelled additions to the Zoo.

Almost certainly won't be keeping their shelter names but kinda stumped on what their new names should be. Anyway, first one is "Shelly" and she has a somewhat deformed shell but is otherwise a very large, healthy girl, roughly 20 plus years old.

And then "Sugar" she was a stray that wasn't claimed, so not much background on her but she is also assessed at around 20 years old. Another big healthy girl.

Ooh very nice , they have found a good home! I'm the lame type that would name turtles after famous turtles.. Koopa & Troopa (Mario) or any of the Ninja turtles. What i also find strangely fitting for shelled pets is nice distinguished classic names like Beatrice / Cordelia / Josephine / Leonora / Winifred / etc.

Re: New shelled additions to the Zoo.

Three of mine are Three Toes, including the first girl posted in this thread. The other new one I was told was an Eastern, but in looking at her, I'm thinking she might be a hybrid or intergrade, Three Toed/Eastern but then again, I'm not anything like an expert on spotting the differences. Shrug ...

Easterns usually have darker shells with red or yellow markings. They can fade out with age. Regardless, looks like they've got that inquisitiveness that makes the species neat to keep.
