Exclamation Help!

I'm interested in getting a female ball python, but I had a couple questions. Do they ovulate no matter what, or only if you cool them for breeding? If they do no matter what, is there any special care i should know about? Thanks!

Re: Help!

Females can ovulate "no matter what". It doesn't usually happen unless they are being paired with a male.

Females may grow follicles every year but they will re-absorb them since there's no males around or conditions aren't correct. The odd time you'll have an ovulation and that means most likely it will be all slugs.

Re: Help!

So if I keep the temperature the same, the female will only grow follicles, which will reabsorb?

Re: Help!

Yes. Very rarely they will still ovulate.
