Help identifying a lizard?

I know nothing about lizards. I bought a small tree and found a lizard in it. I caught him before my cat could eat him, and he lost his tail. He is very small, and has non-slit eyes. I put him in a container with air holes, a leaf from the tree, and a fly I caught. I would like to know what kind of lizard this is, so I can feed him properly.

Re: Help identifying a lizard?

Looks like a half starved Carolina Anole, might be a brown anole though. Does it have any markings or solid colors?

Either way, crickets or small flying insects, will take dead flies by hand (or other insects), no june bugs or hard shelled stuff, they prefer moths and mosquitos and soft bodied grasshoppers etc.
