Snake Identification please.

I am located in southern maryland Charles county. What kind of snake do I have on my porch. I don't believe it's a baby copperhead.

Hello SSMenace49. You are right, it is not a Copperhead. It is a juvenile Eastern Rat Snake aka Black Rat Snake. It is harmless. As it ages it will become very dark, maybe even completely black with a white chin and belly as an adult.
