Hello and HELP!!

Hello I'm completely new to snakes, I bought a Carpet from a pet shop six days ago which they told me its two years old. In my country ppl dont usually own snakes so there is the lack of knowledge in pet store and vets. anyhow... the thing is that I just found out that my CP is having like small bugs on it's skin which I later on learned that they are called Mites and they could be fatal!!
There is no snake mites spray anywhere to be found here... I really don't want anything wrong to happen to my animal...

Please someone help.. I need snake mites spray !! :'(

Re: Hello and HELP!!

A solution of NIX or human hair lice treatment...can work...Unfortunately, I am unsure of the strength mixture...look it up on the site under a search..or here is a link http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/gener...ake-mites.html

Re: Hello and HELP!!

If NIX is available for you use that. A 50ml bottle of the shampoo is to be dilluted into 4l of water and stir well. First remove the snake from the enclosure remove all substrate and anything that cant be 100% sanitized and throw it out IE anything wood. Clean the enclosure top to bottom with dilluted bleach solution and rinse very well so no bleach is left behind. Put the nix solution in a spray bottle and spray the animal and all decorations very well excluding the water dish (you sont want the snake drinking nix). Once thats done repeat in 14 days. Good luck and keep us posted and feel free to ask for any further assistance.

Re: Hello and HELP!!

The active ingredient in Nix is permethrin, so if you can't get Nix where you live you can look for a human lice treatment or cat/dog ear mite treatment which is permethrin-based. You'll have to read the bottles. If you find one, let us know the concentration so we can tell you how to dilute it.
