Basking Lamp for Small Exo Terra

Ok so I have a small Exo Terra front opener that is planted and growing in alright, currently doesn't have anything living in there. It's 12x12x18.

The only thing is I'm considering getting a small lizard or something. However the lid on these is split and there really isn't space for a basking lamp to rest. Now I'm curious if you had any ideas.

Re: Basking Lamp for Small Exo Terra

I have similar exo terras and just put the light to one side and let it sit on a bit of an angle. The dividers on the top are pretty heat resistant. But with a tank that size the light used shouldnt be a big issue. the plastic may warp a little but not actually melt and should be fine.

Alternativly you could put a crestie in it as they have lower heat requirments than most others and as long as the ambient room temp is good should eliminate thee issue entirely.

I'm actually considering several types of gecko for this exact reason.
