First attempt at breeding snakes question

I plan on breeding two Hondurans this year and would like to know if it is acceptable to cohabitate them for a few weeks to give them time to successfully breed? Typically, I would never cohabitate any of my snakes, but they seem to not really know what's supposed to be going on when I place them in a breeder tank for about an hour at a time with me present. Your thoughts...

Wish i could help but all my experience is with pythons and boas and it's limited.

I've heard of people cohabitating hondos, but I don't have any experience with that myself. They're not particularly aggressive towards each other, though, so as long as they're well-fed and your enclosures are spacious(I personally wouldn't risk it in a rack system just because of the limited space), I would expect them to do fine for a week or so. There are many videos on youtube regarding hondo breeding practices which include cohabitation.

IMO, I would just wait until the female sheds and then I would pair them. Did you brumate them? If you did, and once the female sheds, that would be when she is more receptive. The male will pick up on the pheromones at that time and should be stimulated. Good luck.

Thank you all for your responses. Yes I brumated these snakes and both have shed and are feeding again albeit a bit more slowly than before brumation. I'll give them a couple more introductions to see if they warm up to each other while I do a bit more research.

No experience with breeding any reptiles yet, but it occurred to me to ask if the female is definitely sexually mature?
