Scale rot / cutaneous parasites?

Hey folks, I'm quite new to snake-keeping so I'm here looking for advice. My hatchling rhino rat snake developed this thing (see pics below) on/under his scales a few days ago.
As a beginner know-it-all, I thought it was due to humidity being too high and assumed it was of bacterial/fungal kind, so I lowered humidity and tried treating it with F10SC - to no avail.

At any rate, I'm taking the snake to the vet first thing tomorrow, but I'm still very interested in a second opinion from someone experienced.

Thanks in advance

(let the bashing begin I suppose, I deserve it)

Re: Scale rot / cutaneous parasites?

Update from the vet - it's a scab (actually multiple; a few smaller ones can be seen as well on the pics) that formed due to an injury from external causes, e.g. sharp or rough objects, bite from another animal etc.

In my case, I'm pretty sure it was caused by my not-careful-enough handling when unwrapping the animal from a very rough, artificial jungle wine. I would never think that I wasn't careful enough but... it is the only thing I can think of so it must be it.

So... lesson learned. Hopefully, this post will help someone in the future.

Yep, it should be gone / much better once he sheds and he will be checked by the vet again then.
I added a pic of the little shoestring to my gallery so feel free to check it out

Sometimes they get that on the nose or chin from trying to force their way out / into / under something.

However we haven't had experience with "artificial jungle wine".

Well, once at a Cuban all inclusive resort! :P

Glad it's an easy fix for you.
