My SD Retics slow feeding response

Howzit folks? I've read so many posts about great feeding responses, even with f/t prey.
My SD Retics response to live mice was quick and quite spectacular. Especially compared to how she feeds on her f/t rats. I thaw then try and dangle the rat in front of her and at first expected her to strike and wrap the rat up like I've seen other snakes attack f/t, but no such response. I now lay the rat on her hide. She slowly searches for her meal, finds it, then slowly and methodically takes the head and starts swallowing.
I mean, there's nothing wrong with her appetite and if there's nothing to worry about, I guess this post was a big waste of time.
Any ideas, past experiences, advice??

It happens, there's nothing to be concerned about. I've got one snake that has different feed responses for chickens and rabbits and guinea pigs. She hits rabbits like they're going out of style but she treats chickens like a teenager treats broccoli, she begrudgingly eats it after once she's determined that she's not getting anything else. She sniffs g. pigs and then just opens her mouth, no constricting at all.

That's exactly what mine does. She is healthy and I suppose I already knew she would be fine. I was just curious if there were any other explanations. Thanks Millertime!! You always seem to come through.
With that said,I'd like to get another SD, but a male that would give me the potential for some amazing hatchlings when they're old and mature enough.
Do you know any members here that specialize in SDRetics that might know the best mate to chose for her?

My male kalatoa(pure super dwarf) hits food like my jampeas do; like there will never be another meal again. But my female kalatoa takes her time to make sure what she's facing is a meal before she "attacks" it.

There are quite a few members on here that are very familiar with Retics. If I were you I'd post a thread in the giant section asking everyone opinion. I'm assuming your talking about morphs as far as the male goes.

Jason Reed is who I would contact. Travis Kubes might have some too but I haven't heard from him in a while and I know he's been extremely busy.
