Re: New Jungle Jag
Really like the pattern on that one better than most I've seen.

Re: New Jungle Jag
Ok so I have a carpet that looks almost identical to yours and bought it when it was a year or two old but was told its a jag IJ. How do you know what the jag % is if i was misinformed completely as to what it actually is.

the Jag morph is a co dominant mutation mate
it's either 100% Jag or it's not a Jag,there are no percentages
^^^^^
hope that makes sense
re your Irian Jag
the question would be what percentage of Irian is there
it may have been produced using pure IrIan x pure Coastal Jag
then your IJ is 50% Irian 50% Coastal, but the morph is 100% Jag
if an Irian Jag sibling was used then crossed with an Irian Jag,the percentage of Irian goes up,while the Coastal percentage gets less
re Jag sibling
a sibling is one of the clutch that does NOT have the Jaguar mutation, when you breed a Jag x another Carpet
if you cross a Jag with Another Jag,you run the risk of creating some leucistic hatchlings (supers)
they ALWAYS die after a few hours, most don't make it out the egg
if ive not explained things too well or you have questions, feel free to ask (i'm not great at wording genetic explanations mate)
cheers shaun

Re: New Jungle Jag
I get the idea of what you were saying there and knew that jag+jag=death. Heres a pic of my girl. Can you tell what she is?
I think these 2 look similar and am now questioning if mine is a jungle jag or jag ij??

the only way you can find out is ask the guy who produced your Jag
it's impossible to tell what Carpet genetics are involved, unless you have correct lineage information
cheers shaun

The problem is I picked her up from someone online not the actual breeder so I guess I'll never know for sure.
