My male BCI is about 10 months old and never uses his hide. I know older boas don't use them. Has any other members removed the hide for their young boas? There's still plenty of room in his enclosure to leave it in for now so it's really no big deal. It's probably still offering enough security for him being in there just taking up excess space
I would leave it in regardless, its always better to give them the option. My boas tend to go through phases. Either they will use it a lot like Pet_snake said or not at all. Its just best to let them decide where they want to be.
Depends on the snake. At that age I would leave it in just in case things change. Several of my older animals don't have hides anymore because after years of them never using them I got tired of having one more thing to clean poop off of.
