Peggy - My BP lady

Hey there!

So, last Tuesday I finally got my first ball python! The previous owners were selling her for being 'too big' ... Well, what can I say? The enclosure they kept her in was tiny! Not nearly big enough for her. She also only had a tiny little water bowl, it was too warm in the enclosure and she also had a bit of her last shed stuck on her face ... Funny though: They told me that they had fed her on the day I went to pick her up and that I will have to get her out of the enclosure myself because they wouldn't touch her. Also said that she's aggressive and will surely bite. Okay, I am not terribly afraid of getting bitten, so I went and got her out. Guess what? She's the most gentle noodle I've met so far! Not a single attempt to bite me or anything.
First thing when we got home was to get the old skin off her head. So I took her out of the transport box and went to the bathroom. There I tapped a wet q-tip on the dried skin and then peeled it off. Came off without any problem (and again, she wasn't acting aggressive at all)

What I am wondering though is this: They told me she's about 9-10 months old and they fed her with adult mice (about 40grams) But she seems big for that age? I mean, I have no idea how fast bp's grow, but she already weights 556 grams. Is that too much?
Maybe the pictures will help (I was wearing a glove because of what they said about being bitey, but I wouldn't have needed it at all)

It's possible she's older! I have no idea where the previous owners got her from so I have to go with what they said, but my first guess was that she is older too. Doesn't really matter, though (:

Re: Peggy - My BP lady

She isn't very long ... so I guess a year might be closer than two ?? She's my first BP so I really can't tell at which rate they grow. I think she weights even less than 556g (she just pooped today, haha)
I dunno. But like I said, it doesn't matter much to me as longs as she's in good health
