King ratsnake help

I have a baby king ratsnake that I offered good to once since I got it and he took it but dropped it and didn't eat it. And today it was feeding day again and he didn't take the meal again. Any tips on feeding these guys?

Sounds like you are feeding frozen thawed? Is the prey warmed up enough? It should be close to 100* F. You can try letting the mouse bleed through the nose a little bit to incite a feeding response.

You need to tell us your temp and humidity and give us a picture of your enclosure set up.

King Rats typically have a good feeding response. As they said, what's your husbandry, and are you feeling live or f/T?

As stated above, pics and stats on your setup is needed. A lot of snakes will only eat if they feel safe and secure.

My King rat is very flighty. She will not eat unless it's dark and I just place a warm f/t rat in her tub and go away.

Do you have alot of leaves and cover? Just curious- I have had snakes like that (mostly colubrids) who have immediately come around d when I provided enough cover to travel the whole enclosure unseen or "protected."

Her entire enclosure is vines and leaves. Can't see in without my moving stuff around. Never refused a meal, but won't eat if I'm around.
