IDing a snake near our barn. I don't think it's venemous?

Hi, so this guy is either the biggest Gopher snake I have ever seen, or a really big rattler. Five feet long! If he is not venemous, he is welcome here! I think it is a Gopher snake.

The head is narrow, not like any of the pictures I have seen. Of course it hisses and strikes, but I have seen Gopher snakes do that. The tip of his tail looks like it has suffered some trauma, so I was worried that the rattlers may have been bitten off.

But it's head is so narrow. I think. For now it is by our barn. We have over twenty horses.
