Please Help Me Out!

This is about my snake Sonny, a year old purple albino retic. He has the best temperament from handling, and when I take him to expos kids LOVE him.
But just a month ago, I noticed his head was extra dry. He's ALWAYS had bad sheds, but we manage to get most of it off in the tub. For some reason, though, after his most recent shed (about a month ago), his head got VERY dry. The scales on the top of his head and nose are dry, one even looks almost raw.
The scales on the back of his head are also peeling up.
Should I up his humidity? I've sprayed him more than normal, and now it's not AS bad, but is there anything else I should do? Is it extremely dry skin?
He's housed in a 40-gallon tank on aspen (I'm switching him to coconut soon) and he eats once a week.

Ah! I think I've just found my problem, it's at about 55%.
Ive heard it needs to be 60-70%, so I'll get on that!

Yes mate get that humidity up. When one of mine is in shed he sits a large bowl of water, sheds perfect every time! Try adding another water bowl as that will increase the humidity.

Get a better enclosure designed to retain humidity.

Re: Please Help Me Out!

Also try using cypress mulch that holds humidity really well.

Re: Please Help Me Out!

Pics would be nice. 55% is a little low but Idk if that would cause a big issue. You might try a humid hide box until you get your husbandry correct and see if that helps.
