Depends, what are you trying to move, I haven't seen a closterphobic snake yet but you certainly don't want to take a 6 foot retic from a 4x2x2 and stuff him in a 28 quart tub, so what exactly are you moving and what size are you going from to

Re: Housing question
Okay so I have a 2 & 1/2 year old ball python and he is currently living in a 4 ft by 2ft by 1&1/2 ft high enclosure. and the quart tub I want to move him to is 1ft 8in by 1&1/2 ft by 1ft high.

that is far to small for any snake imo, except perhaps neonates
I wouldn't keep a ball in anything smaller than what it is currently in. 4x2 is ideal imo

Re: Housing question
Yeah I thought about and I agree that it is to small for him to live in. It's just that I thought about buying another snake and putting him in the 4foot enclosure. but I'd rather just wait and buy another good size enclosure. Thanks for the advice for all who commented.
