Question I need advice

So....I was thinkin about trading my 2 wandering garter snakes w/ all supplies for a tiger salamander that has all supplies. First of all, is this a good deal? Second of all, should I get a tiger salamander. I want to be able to hold it like I do my snakes. I love reptiles but my mom would prefer something w/ legs. Should I get one? Is this a good deal? pls help

I personally don't know much about Tiger Salamanders specifically, but I know that amphibians are generally less handle-able than reptiles. Their skin absorbs toxins easily (ie., skin oils, sweat, lotions) and they dry out quickly. It's best to handle them as little as possible.

I suggest that if you want something to handle that stays fairly small, get a lizard such as a bearded dragon, crested gecko or leopard gecko.

Probably your mom means a creature with legs and fur! LOL...

I would think that trading two snakes for one salamander isn't that good of a deal, but that's just me.

Personally , I would not make that trade. Unless you treat your animals like fish and just look at them I would do exactly what was said above. Get a leo, beardie or a skink. All have legs and are handleable. If you like salamanders you will love leopard geckos.

Good choice. I personally wouldn't consider trading 2 snakes for an amphibian a good one.
