Komodo Dragons at Moody Gardens

Finally out on exhibit. These are not my pictures, I haven't had a chance to get some good ones yet. But here they are, Murphy and Diablo.

Here is an old picture of their enclosure back when it housed a pair of Chinese Alligators, and had not yet been netted over in preparation for the Komodos.

Awesome creatures; thanks for the pictures. The enclosure is in some sort of greenhouse type thing, is it?

Yes it is. It stays in the 70-80 degree range even when it's in the 20s outside.

Awesome! We have some here at the Minnesota Zoo as well; they've been on display now for about 15 years or so. Always my favorite part of the zoo.

Those are really nice, how big are they? Never seen Komodo Dragons that small I don't think.

Re: Komodo Dragons at Moody Gardens

Got some pictures yesterday, the glare from the sun was pretty bad though, so they aren't the best.
Putting all that mesh up took a while.

Re: Komodo Dragons at Moody Gardens

For the past week or so, they've been a bit busy... No actual copulation while I was there though.
