Change feeding schedule?
Warning, NOOB question ahead:
I finally got an electronic scale, and weighed my young Coral Snow Corn Snake. She came in between 27-28 grams. According to a graph I found on BHB's website, it says she should be fed one small fuzzie every 5-6 days, yet I've been feeding her every 8, because that's what I was told by the person that raised her. This person tells me I shouldn't change that schedule, but I'm thinking I should. Is there any reason why changing the schedule would be a bad idea? At some point I'm going to have to change size and time of food, no matter what, so why would it matter now?
Thanks for any advice

Re: Change feeding schedule?
I'd feed every 5-6 days for a snake that size.

Re: Change feeding schedule?
I personally feel every 4 days is pushing it a bit, right on the verge of power feeding. But I do usually feed young snakes like that every five days for awhile and then switch to every seven. There is no set weight or age I move them out to seven days, it all depends on how the individual snake seems to be doing to me.
Eight days is pretty near a maintenance diet, at that age it won't grow very fast being fed that little.

Re: Change feeding schedule?
Snakes do not need to be on a hard fast schedule. Feeding them a day or two early or late is not going to hurt them. It is actually more natural for them to be fed without a schedule. Feed them sometimes four days between feeding and other it,mes feed them 8 days between feeding. And power feeding is when you force a snake to eat more than it would it on it's own.
