UTH peeling off
Hey everyone. My Zoomed UTH is starting to peel off from the bottom of one of my tanks. I was thinking of using double sided tape but I've also heard that you can use silicone aquarium sealant. Any ideas on the best way to stick that back on? TIA

I have had this happen and just used Duct tape along the edges of the UTH. Worked great.

So long as it is on the outside of the enclosure then tape is fine. If it's inside the. I would go with sealant.

These UTH are not designed to be on the inside of a tank. They belong on the outside so the reptile does not come in contact with the heater. Also the glass helps to absorb and distribute the heat a little more.

Hi Jerry, the uth is on the outside of the tank. Do you concur that tape is the best option?

As long as the tape is heat resistant. Some tapes peel off wen they get heated.

I would use double sided tape to adhere the bottom of the pad to the tank, and then secure it further by using duct or aluminum tape on the outer edges.
Reptile basics sells some very strong two sided tape.
If it were a thin pad I'd only tape the edges(as I do with my heat mats) but zoomed pads are pretty hefty compared to others.

Mikoh-It's a pretty thin pad. Less than a half inch thick I'd say. So the duct tape and aluminum tape should be heat resistant?

By thin I mean paper thin... like ultratherm and cobra.
I don't know for a fact(you'd have to confirm with the seller) but from my experience the two sided tape and aluminum tape from reptile basics are heat resistant. I've been using them and I don't see any slack at all with my heat mats.
