In search of Bothrops asper

No luck!

I paid a local Costa Rican to take me out in the rain forrest at night and look for Bothrops asper. Found a lot of cool things but not what I was after.

Couple different Basalisks, many frogs and toads, eyelash pit viper, cat eyed snakes, anoles. Compiling a list of species now.

The first one was funny, I couldn't see what he was eating and I asked if it was a frog. The guy replied "Eetz not a choke a lowt bar" haha..

I love making videos. I try hard to make it tell a story. Traveling in a fried out kombi? Driving in the crappy Costa Rican van. When you're high you never wanna come down? A bug eyed rodent hanging on for deer life up in a tree.. I need a life haha...

Great video. Sounds like you saw some awesome animals. I was there too, and saw poison dart frogs, red and lime green/blk, blue morpho butterflies, basilisk, howler monkeys, sloth, crocodiles, spider monkeys, capuchin monkeys, leaf cutter ants and more. It was an excellent trip - I went back in 1996. I loved the umbrella leaves there.

Re: In search of Bothrops asper

It was fun. But I was glad to leave. I was eating at a KFC there and in my chicken patty I pulled out a baby chicken foot. Ew.

Here's the video of the whole trip.
