I had something similar for my reef aquarium and also used multiple lighting effects when I kept dart frogs. It's more for us than them, of course, but pretty neat

Never had anything that did thunderstorms, though, don't see the point of that

. Seems like it would stress out the animals.
edit: With reef aquariums, one school of thought was that lighting like this was less stressful for WC animals. They're not used to their environment going from totally dark to extremely bright with the flip of a switch (literally). And indeed, WC fish often "jump" when the lights are turned on and seem calmer when it's a gradual change. So I can see this being useful for WC reptiles, too.
