My sand boas
I have three Kenyan sand boas and wanted to introduce them .
Kenya, an extremely, extremely aggressive female (seriously goes way out of her way to bite me...she's about 3-4 years old and has done this since around her first birthday). First pic was when she was younger, second is still an old pic but more what she looks like now:
Second one is Gobi, a 2 year old male and a complete sweetheart. Sweetest snake I've ever met!
Third is a new baby that someone gave me. His name is Vulcan and he was rehomed because the owner went to college and the mom didn't mind caring for the other snakes but didn't like Vulcan. He's a problem shedder and problem feeder. He's a nervous little guy but we're working on it . He's apparently 10 months old.

Re: My sand boas
Got Vulcan out for the first time today. He flailed around a bit when I picked him up and then settled down. He's a gorgeous boa .

Re: My sand boas
Wow, what a crazy day! One of my sand boas, Kenya, is normally not handleable...she strikes a lot and the last time I had to get her out, she bit the hell out of me .
Well, today, she was chilling above sand with her head almost resting on the glass, seemingly watching people. She ate a few days ago so I knew she wasn't hungry, she was just relaxing. Seemed like a good time to try handling her again, I hadn't held her since last winter. Got her out using a tiny snake hook and she was strangely calm. I didn't want to push my luck so I only had her out for a few minutes but got this pic:
It was awesome to hold her after all this time. I've tried getting her out before and she was so nippy and nervous that I didn't push the issue. But today she was fine with it, might try again if I catch her in another good mood. I'm not someone that has to handle all my pets but it would be nice to be able to get her out during cage cleanings since she normally nips at me the whole time .

Lighting was awful for photos but hopefully you get the idea!
