Sav in new cage

He comes to me at the end of the video and allows me to touch him etc.

I finally moved and settled in and built the new cage(8x4x4 feet). Grew some grass and still in the middle of adding more stuff to the cage.

He roams around like this for hours each day. But he hasn't made a burrow yet unfortunately...

But here's the video.

Are those rocks and things secure? I'd be worried about him digging under them. As far as digging burrows, have you tried starting one for him?
How big is he now?

Re: Sav in new cage

Those rocks are actually not that big and he doesn't seem to dig under small rocks. He's dug under the logs before when he was only 1 foot and he can lift the log that's 4 times his size at that time! Now he is 6 months and over 2 feet long.

I did start a few holes in this new cage but he just doesn't seem to want to dig. He just digs a shallow one under the wooden board to sleep.

Maybe I didn't get the right consistency mix this time.. i'm not sure...

Re: Sav in new cage

Usually, no interest in burrowing is a sign that the lizard does not like the soil.

any close ups of the dirt you can share?
