mealworm colony resists

I started a mealworm colony almost 4 months ago and here is what I got. The top is the beetles from the worms I started out with. The second picture is the first batch they produced, and the third is the 2nd and newest batch they produced. I am vary happy and to this, I might need a second gecko or a spider/tarantula to eat these guys up haha

Are the beetles more nutritious? Why don't people just feed the beetles?
