CHEAP online rodents?
Hi. Is there any places online that aren't going to charge me one million dollars in shipping for rats and mice? Thanks for your time

Re: CHEAP online rodents?
Every place I know of has pretty expensive shipping charges. My next order will be $120 and $53 is for shipping.

Re: CHEAP online rodents?
i get 99% of my feeders from expos, so i dont have to pay for shipping. you can ask local small pet shops/snake owners if they'd be willing to go in on an order with you, so you can split the shipping cost. alternatively, craigslist.

I agree. It's the best way to get your frozen feeders.

Shipping prices are pretty much standard. Its not like suppliers are making a killing off of shipping. Your best bet is to find a local rodent breeder. Ask around, check craigslist, sometimes good breeders will sell their excess there.

No, shipping is expensive. Thats just how it is. They don't make money from the shipping costs, the box, dry ice, insulated foam, overnight service, its not cheap.

Re: CHEAP online rodents?
Even with outrageous shipping, I'm still only paying about $100/yr to feed one snake. About 1/3 of what it cost from a chain store. I can live with that, especially when the closests expos to me are 3 hrs away.

The expos here are in different citites every year. 2014 it'll be right next to me. If I want to buy 1 years worth of food there, how should I do that? Buy a few months worth of the sizes my snakes eat, a few months worth of the next size up, etc?
Since all snakes have different growth rates, here's what I'll be buying for and what they're eating
1.1.0 BCI (DOB: 6/21/2013 & 5/14/2013)
Eating: Hopper mice.
1.0.0 290 gram - approx. 2'6" long Ball Python
Eating: Adult mice
0.1.0 Corn Snake 9 ounces, approx. 4'
Eating: Adult mice.
And depending on how Saturday goes, possibly
0.0.1 Dumeril's Boa approx 5'-6'.
Eating: Small - Medium Rats.

With that many animals at all different sizes, I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you buy. I'd get like 50 adult mice, 50 rat pups and 50-100 large rats. chances are you'll be getting more snakes anyway so I'm sure you'll use them.

Re: CHEAP online rodents?
I know a breeder that's driving distance but I have one issue... I don't have a car. If anyone's familiar with Oregon/Washington transit, no buses will take you to Washington from Oregon and vice versa.

If its within driving distance, its within biking distance. Get a pedal bike. Don't you have a mom or dad or friend who can bring ya? When I was your age I had like a million ways to get a ride from point A to B, think of something you little troll you
