Almost all snakes are illegal here?
Hi, everyone. I found something extremely interesting on snakes... Apparently all nonnative snakes are illegal here. Here's the part that says so on the Oregon Wild life something or another website...
and here's the link to the actual site...
http://www.dfw.state.or.us/oars/56.pdf
If that's true, wouldn't that mean that Ball Pythons are illegal, even though almost every single pet store in Oregon sells them?

But it does say that that you can't buy or sell Oregon native species such as gopher snakes, certain king snakes and garters unless they are morphologically different from the natives. I think many states have a law like this.

So that baby corn snake, which is a normal, that I wanted to rescue along with that poor norm ball python, is being illegally sold? Corn snakes are native to Oregon (I believe).

Re: Almost all snakes are illegal here?
If you read the entire document you will see that Oregon is actually very liberal with their exotics laws. Corn snakes are not native to Oregon. They are found mostly on the Sounthern East Coast and west to Louisianna.
