Snake Slobber. Normal? Bad?

Hey, everyone. So Mr.Slithers, my Ball Python is done shedding and I decided I'd try and feed him today. Everything went smooth, and a few minutes (probably ten-fifteen) later, I held him, and handled him. As I was holding him he started slobbering... How some sort of big dog might slobber. If wasn't foamy, or anything. Just looked like saliva. I always see it on his food after he's been munching on it for a while, but it was weird that he was drooling after he was done eating. He's got fresh water, etc. Anyone know if that's normal, or unhealthy? I've never experienced that before. I asked on another forum, and got no replies so I figured I'd try here.

I have never heard of something like that.

But you shouldn't be holding him for at least 2 days after feeding.

He was probably starting to regurgitate. Unless you really need to you should always wait at least 2 day after feeding to handle your snake.

best of luck

I know you're supposed to wait to hold them, but I didn't know you're supposed to wait two days o.o It's been a few hours and I've been checking on him, and he's perfectly fine now. But I was just curious as to why that was happening.

Don't check on him so often. let it be once in a while. =]

I agree that it could have been a regurge attempt.

It happens after feeding or sometimes drinking. It's probably just water coming back up.

As stated, 48 hours after feeding you can handle them.

Thanks for the help, guys. And btw, Amadeus, I have only been checking on him because of the whole slobbering thing. He just finished shedding (haven't interacted with him for almost a week) and is back to is hyper old self! He went into hermit mode while he was shedding. lol

Could've been just some water he just drank.

He's fine now, and I check on him every couple of hours to make sure everything is alright, and by check on him, I mean walking up to his tub and looking at him for a few minutes. I am not actually like.. picking him up and examining him (just to clarify).
