Introducing Kubu!
So i got this little guy about 2 weeks ago.
He, (not sexed yet, just using the male as a default) is about a foot, foot and a half long.
The enclosure measures 4X2X3 and temps are currently at 75 in the cool end and 95 at his hot spot. The humidity is between 50 and 60. (I'm going to update the two analog instruments this Thursday.
I do have one concern, he ate Friday, and i have yet to notice any defaecate. This is my first snake so i don't know for sure the timing on these things, but would greatly appreciate some input.

Re: Introducing Kubu!
You want to bump your humidity up by 10% to ensure good health, in terms of poop the snake sill poop when it needs too, if you feed small prey then there is little to no waste, there is no need to wait for poop before the next ed or anyhting like that.
My three year old bp poops about once a month

He states the humidity is between 50-60, it should be between 60-70, not preposterous at all.
And if you are going to make statement like that you really should quantify them in some way so that the op knows and is informed of the reasons for your disagreement.

I agree. Explain your argument instead of just leaving an assertion so we know why you think that way. It would help the people who read your post understand where you are coming from.
I keep my ball pythons at 65-70% at all times. They are doing just fine.

Sorry, 50-60% is just fine.
My bp has had no problems. In shed it just gets bumbed to around 70% and all is good.
I think it is preposterous to try and keep 70% all the time when the snake needs less, I can't say it will hurt but it is just not needed.

Re: Introducing Kubu!
An easy way to bump up the humidity would be to move the water dish over to the warm side. Just remember to top it off more frequently.
I would also get some small plants and place them in front of the opening for each hide. Those hide styles are fine, they're just way oversized for your little guy right now which may be why he's not using them. BP's like to be in small, tight, dark spaces. You could also clutter up under/inside of them with loosely crumpled newspaper.
I'd remove the light and install a UTH with thermostat, especially if he's a climber and could come into contact with the bottom corner of it from the climbing branch. I know from experience those things get HOT.

You obviously seem to like arguing over semantics.
The OP said his humidity is 50-60%, i said bump it up by 10%
50+10=60
60+10=70
Therfore bumping 50-60% by 10%=60-70% NOT "you must keep the snake at 70%."
do you understand or shall i make it more simple for you?

Obviously you do as well.
Could you dumb it down a bit? I'm having trouble with the complexity of your mathematics.

Re: Introducing Kubu!
Good to hear and thanks for the input. I wasn't overly worried, just wanted to check this was normal.
Edit:
I am correct that he is a Spider morph right?

Re: Introducing Kubu!
Nice enclosure, looks like a normal spider to me, idk if he has anything else going on as I'm not an expert in BP's. Anyways, seems like you've done your homework, and don't worry about the bathroom, it might not be every feed even.

Re: Introducing Kubu!
Thanks for the feed back everyone! I bumped the humidity up and am keeping it 60-70. SMY, i definitely looked into this very intently before i got him/her. i wanted to avoid any future catastrophes and this forum as a whole was super helpful! much more so than any care sheets i found online. This is so far one of the best web based communities i have belonged to so far!
Edit: Also, this little bugger is certainly a climber, i know they tend not to be but he loves the little tree branch thinger, and typically hides in the brush i have in the back corners over the hide. i may have seen him in the hides a total of 3 times.
