Crazy about Rainbow Boas
Hey! My name is Alexandria, I go by Alex. I am co-owner of StarDust Scales, and specialize in Brazilian Rainbow Boas, Epicrates Assisi, and a few rare gecko species. We currently work with about 10 different genes/morphs of Brazilian Rainbow Boa including several kinds of Anerys, Hypos, Ghost, Chocolate, Xanthic, and several pattern morphs as well as a couple random snakes including a False Water Cobra, Mussurana and Carpet Python. We had our first litter of 100% Het-Stripe Brazilian Rainbow Boas this year and should have lots of fun and funky snakes popping up in the next few years!!
I'm always excited to see other peoples brbs, so feel free to show me yours as well!!! Here are a few of our more unusual ones
Thanks!!!
Alex

Re: Crazy about Rainbow Boas
Wow, that second and third are great! And can you maybe post some pics of false water cobra? They are rather rare and I will be happy to see some pics and opinion from a breeder/owner

Re: Crazy about Rainbow Boas
Omg what is that first one?! Need more pics of it! Does it keep the rainbow shine or loose it like some hypos do?

Exactly what I was going to ask! That's a gorgeous snake, we must have more pics!
What kind of projects/goals are you going to be working on in the next few years with the BRBs?

Re: Crazy about Rainbow Boas
Do you have a website or Facebook page? I'd love to see more of what you work with because I plan to one day have BRB one day.
BTW you have some beautiful animals here.

Re: Crazy about Rainbow Boas
Thanks for all the amazing comments!!
The first one is actually a Ghost! Very few around and it's easy to mistake them for anery when they young.
The second is a high color het hypo
The third is one unique to us, a male named Flash
I'm currently working with over 30 brbs, 3 epicrates c. Assisi and 4 e. c. Crassus.
My main brb projects are the Arctic Anery's, Seib line Ghost, Seib Anery, TT Stripe, Lockwood hypo, and several unproven lines and high color lines with extra special extra genetics.
Our fb page is searchable under Stardust Scales

Re: Crazy about Rainbow Boas
FWC as requested
Side note.... FWCs are incredible snakes!!! Amazing feeding response and very active and inquisitive snakes. They have great eye sight and often watch me move around the room. I will admit that they are fierce and intense snakes, they are very large as adults and their movements can be very erratic and fast.
Im totally in love, but I probably won't have more than a handful of them at any one time.

Re: Crazy about Rainbow Boas
I found your site and you have some very nice animals, however, the ghost BRB is my favorite.

Completely agree with you! I'm also curious to know if the Ghosts keep the iridescence? What is the color difference between the Ghost and Anery when mature? Definitely going to be keeping an eye on your page and I'm very excited to see what you produce in the next couple years.

Re: Crazy about Rainbow Boas
Thanks DDW!! The Ghost is my favorite too his mother is the reason I fell in love with BRBs years ago. Last year I found out I knew the owner of her & I couldn't have been more excited for her first litter. I couldn't be more honored to have him!!!

Re: Crazy about Rainbow Boas
Haha the red boy is technically a visual "normal" (het hypo) but he's from a high red line (LAMAR). I can't wait to see how he develops, I currently have a gorgeous red adult female who I consider my most red brb but I think he's gonna outshine her

Re: Crazy about Rainbow Boas
You're welcome
I usually go for darker animals with high contrasts (or albinos) but that ghost BRB is stunning. Does the ghost BRB keep the same, less or more iridescence?
