Smile 24x18x12 exo terra

Hi there. I have a baby corn snake in a 24x18x12 exo terra right now. I am aware that this will only be temporary. And I will be upgrading when necessary. What I am wondering is after my snake grows out of the exo terra I will have an empty tank just sitting there. And instead of selling it for half of what I paid for it I'm thinking that I will want to put something new into it. So my question is: what can be permanently housed in a 24x18x12 exo terra? I am open to any reptile, amphibian. Anything.

I've never had one but I'm pretty sure a garter snake could go in a cage that size permanently. Or maybe a male hognose? That would be my two suggestions.

Hognose, rosy boa. Although garters are small they are active snakes and may appreciate more room than a 2ft x 1.5ft.

I feel for you, I'm going to be in this same situation soon too. I have my snake in the same cage. He's already 19-21 inches long he'll out grow it before long. So I'm keeping an eye on this thread for ideas for when the time comes to upgrade his home. And the way my pig eats it may be Christmas time!

I'm kind of in the same boat but I plan on having more snakes. I plan to have all my future snakes from hatchlings/very young juveniles so I would house them in my current Corns enclosure, move them up to their adult enclosure then repeat the cycle until I've got all my dream snakes. I believe my babies enclosure is something around 40X28X16.

Re: 24x18x12 exo terra

Thanks for the suggestions. Are there any lizards that could stay in there? Because I've been looking into them to and the only one that I think could be suitable is maybe a leopard gecko. But I'm not too sure if I'm into that idea. Thanks again for the replies

Yeah I think Leopard Geckos could be a good match possibly.

Yea. I think that that's what I may do. But I really want a crested gecko but the need tall enclosures for climbing. And this isn't a tall enclosure

Yeah I guess you'll just have to make do with what you've got really. Maybe another snake as a hatchling/young juvenile might be an option?
