Pet of the month contest?
I've noticed quite a few new members in the last couple months. I was wondering if everyone might be interested in a pet of the month contest, where members post the best pics of their pets, and we vote for the winner in a poll.

Re: Pet of the month contest?
I would think it should be a community effort, so any other ideas would be welcomed. (We just need to convince Wayne... .)

Re: Pet of the month contest?
Sounds good - the other forum i am on has just stopped their "Pic of hte month" contest as it is a quiet forum and not many people enter. Being much more active forum here i think it would be good.

Re: Pet of the month contest?
I just looked, I have to clean up the photography forum, there is a ton of threads that belong somewhere else.
I hate to find fault, but that forum (category) is for general photos, I see a lot of threads that are species specific that should be in the proper category.
Let me see if I can get Boots to set us up with a contest category.

Re: Pet of the month contest?
Here is the way it should work..
each month the winner of the previous month gets to chose the theme for the photos.
Like "feeding". "Defensive strike posture" "Hiding" "hatching" and so forth.
During the month, the winning photo gets "sticky posted" where everyone can see it, only to be replaced by the next winning photo.
The winner of the previous month choses the theme, then cannot enter for that month.
That keeps someone from creating a theme that only they can enter, or has an unfair advantage over the rest. It also prevents any one person from winning 2 consecutive months, everyone deserves a fair chance.

Re: Pet of the month contest?
since we are already into this month i think there should be a vote of sorts. like a sticky thread that everybody get s a pm about that they post their idea on and the best or most highly backed idea is the one we go with. then we can go from there. did that make sense im still really tired.
my corn decided to poo and it smelled really bad and now my room smells like corn snake poop and so im no longer in there lol
