plexi glass

Has anyone ever used plexi glass to make an enclosure?
Does it work good? I would like to use acrylic but it's expensive.

isn't plexiglass a specialized form of acrylic

anyways, it might not be too bad, except that you'll need a huge sheet of it, which will be expensive depending on thickness

to put plexiglass cages together, you'll need cement

honestly I think it'll be a pain in the ***
have you considered a plywood cage with plexiglass front?

I have used plexi glass to make cages for my selph. Their size measure to 43inch high, 59 inch long, and 23 inch wide. I used metal triangles to hold the sheets together. It works really well. If you want some pics i can post them.

The problem is that enclosures need to be cleaned fairly often, repeated cleaning of Plexiglas will cause fogging over time.

I was just on a website from the states
http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/pro...ylic+Cut+Sheet

Their prices for acrylic sheets is pretty reasonable.

in the long run and in the short run, glass is way cheaper to buy than plexiglass
