Tree Frog Heat Tips?

so my gf's father asked me to help him with his red eyed tree frog and i was wondering, the room that he wants him in gets rather cold at night so we would have to leave the heat lamp on, but when we do this the frog will NOT get up at all, whereas when we turn the light off you can hear him moving around and going after the crickets, etc. what could i do, i thought about getting a night heat lamp? any insight would be greatly appreciated as always!

Maybe a ceramic heat emitter bulb? then there will be no light at all unless it glows red I dunno never used one. Also they have whats called a swamp light, my amazon tree boas really seemed to like those.

The ceramic heat emitter is like a nightbulb that you can leave on all the time, and they won't see it as day light. They are quite expensive, and are $17 and up depending on wattage.

make sure you use a digital thermometer to find out the exact temperatures because temperatures that are too high can kill your frog much easier than temperatures that are too low.

yes i was told they can literally bake the frog which really worries me... its much more delicate than i thought at first. but so far when i turn the light off shes very alert and active. just worried about the draftiness of the room, thanks for the help everyone! i think im going to get that ceramic heater for her

do you even know the temperature in the enclosure at the moment with and without the bulb?

yes it hovers around 80-85 during the day and about 75 at night give or take it just seems to be colder in the room and i dont want it to freeze even though as someone earlier better to keep them cooler than bake them...

those temperatures seem fine for a red eye tree frog. anymore daytime heat will be dangerous but your night temp is good. i dont think you need to warm up the enclosure at all. just my 0.02. hope it can help.
