Exclamation Linds jinxed me!!!!!

She just had to mention that the cage I had for my rat colony had bars set too wide and that young rats could get through.

Well, I check my cage today and one of the rat hoppers is missing!!! Argh!!! Great, how the heck do I find the little sucker now???

It could have gotten out anytime since yesterday so could be anywhere by now. I did a check with a flashlight into all the spots I could think of for now, low to the ground behind and under stuff. I even let my Bobby smell another of the hoppers and told him to find the lost one, who knows!

I'll be setting up a "trap" (tupperware with entrance holes and food) soon hoping to draw it out. Any other tips I could try to find a lost rat?

Well Bobby is a boston terrier. I'm hoping that his terrier instincts will help me find the lost little rat! Probably wishful thinking but he's found many mealworm beetles for me so it don't hurt to try!!!

That's cool. I hate losing rodents. If the dog doesn't catch them I am like freaked out all the time. Once an escaped mouse ended up under my bed covers and I felt it when I slid in for the night. Luckily the dog picked it up in her mouth (tail sticking out) and I made her take it off the bed.....EWWWWWW!

we have 3 cats, but they're lazy and just wait instead of hunting... oh well.
