so today is a very very sad day
So I need to vent or post my feelings since it have piled up today.
Today I found my hognose dead on the floor and my kingsnake baby eaten.
I know my female cat did this because she have tried to kill my gecko too, I was so mad I had to leave the room or my anger would be anything near me I bowled my eyes out since it hurts as much as if it was my baby (for me they are my babies).
I moved my baby snake rack into my pc room (lanzo herp cage) and she pulled the boxes out with her nails there was blood on the box also, my male cat never show any interest in anything beside sleeping, eating or going outside even at night.
It is sad but I can no longer look at her with love in my eyes since she did this therefore I have decided to give her away.
It still hurt so much, when you have putted your time, energy, love and care into those babies, I worried so much for ly hognose even when I was at work because she didn't eat alot but now finally she did.... I'm just so sad and pissed.

Re: so today is a very very sad day
Losing a pet is always sad, but remember not to be too angry at your cat. It doesn't understand that they were your pets and was just doing what cats do.

So sorry for your loss. I understand your frustration i had almost the same happen a few years ago, luckily i heard it happening and was able to stop it. It's definitely not fun when your pets are incompatible.

Re: so today is a very very sad day
I know it really hurts, but you should be proud of yourself. It's very mature of you to make that decision

Re: so today is a very very sad day
I'm really sorry to hear of your loss. I know that you realize that your cat was only doing what comes naturally to a cat, but now that is has figured out how to get at your snakes, it will almost certainly do it again. I wish you luck in finding a good home for your cat.

Re: so today is a very very sad day
I'm sorry for your loss but try not to be too angry with the cat. It was just following it's instincts.

Re: so today is a very very sad day
Oh no ): I'm so sorry ):
Is there no way to keep the reptiles in a room the cats can't access? Or in enclosures they cannot open? I feel terrible for the loss of your snakes, but I don't think it's entiry fair for the cat to get uprooted over it either ):

Re: so today is a very very sad day
I don't understand, it's not your cat's fault. Instead of giving the cat away for being a cat, the right thing to do would be to make the reptile room inaccessible to other household pets.
sorry for the loss
