Looking for something neat,

Hey, i just aranged to buy a good sized vertical exo terra tank from a friend of mine for cheap. The trick is i havent decided what to put in it yet.

The only limitations i have is i dont want to bother with a desert setup, i already have a kenyan sand boa and some leopard gecko's and if i want more i'd rather use a flatter tank, so something that will make at least moderate use of the height of the tank.

im open to snakes, lizards, just about anything, doesnt have to be handling friendly if it's a cool showpiece. im also willing to spend the money to set up rain features if nescessary.

DISCLAIMER*
whatever it is i chose be assured i will do plenty of research before i get it.

Re: Looking for something neat,

What do you mean by 'good size'? Do you have measurements?

Re: Looking for something neat,

Depending on the size, I'd look at a BRB, Brazillian Rainbow Boa.

Very cool to look at, very curious animals and stunning rainbow effect on their skin.

ok, i am now saving up for a BRB, however it is not the best suited for this enclosure, i want to make better use of the verticality of the tank, something that enjoys the trees a bit more. if emerald tree boa's werent so freaking expensive i would get a juvenile and it would be happy for a few years

Re: Looking for something neat,

Our BRB loves to climb. Give them the opportunity and they'll do it.

Re: Looking for something neat,

no i wont be getting the tank until friday, it was large enough for a 2 foot ball with room to grow.

if i had to guess its at least 30 to 36 inches tall, and 24x24 with a screen top and the front glass doors

Just plants would be cool. You could allow for some really tall plants in that thing.

Re: Looking for something neat,

heh, it looks like im getting the tank today after all, when i double check the dimensions i might just go for the BRB, but a GTB is in my 5 year list.

so at the moment its down to a race between a breeding family of crested geckos or a BRB if the tank is big enough, but still taking suggestions.

also, i am going to try to get at least 1 live plant in there, keeping it watered will be great for keeping the humidity up

Re: Looking for something neat,

ok the tank is 24(h)x18x18, feel like that is too small for a boa, or at least anything more than a yearling.

either way i can get a more suitable tank for the boa later

You could get a red eye tree frog in that. They're pretty neat.
