Whole fish

Hi all. Hope this hasn't been asked yet, but I'm wondering if feeding whole fish to a sav from the super market is a good idea or bad?

Re: Whole fish

I only use the organic trout.

Sea fish has..

A. salt
B. Possible mercury content (look it up)
C. Preservatives (frozen fish)

If you buy whole organic (chemical free) fish, you will be fine, Frozen fillet is almost always loaded with junk...

Or....you could catch the trout. Not sure where the OP lives, but I'd check local streams/rivers/lakes to see if fishing might be an option, that is if you have the time. On a "bad day" catching only one trout makes about 3 large meals for my ornate monitor.

If you have time on your hands this summer you could stock up on fish/crawfish/other swimming critters that you can catch/find and put them in a deep freezer for the rest of the year.

Re: Whole fish

Go to your local chinese market and look for snails. Or start your own crayfish colony with marbles, they are parthenogenic :P

Start a crayfish colony using marbled crayfish. And snails are great.
