I have no idea what it is but the best thing you can do is release it close to where you found it.

I believe he is in Australia. Best to let it go considering the numbers of dangerous snakes there.

Re: Hello... Just captured a snake :))

It is hard to tell from the video. Being from the U.S. I would be inclined to say a Garter Snake, but considering the fact that you are from Australia, that changes things. There you have snakes like Stephen's Banded Snakes that are harmless, but you also have Indigos and Mambas which look similar and are very dangerous. I would take the safe route and return it to where you found him. Wild catching snakes to keep for the long run usually does not end well.

Re: Hello... Just captured a snake :))

i'm NOT being cheeky mate.....

if you have no snake keeping experience,it would be best for the snake...if you release it back where you found it

if you want to get into snake keeping,go for a captive bred non venomous snake

cheers shaun

P.S. Redink on here would be the best person to talk to,regards native snakes

Can't really see it through the plastic like that, all blurry and such. I suggest not touching it, considering you're from Aus. there is a high chance that the snake is venomous. If you've never owned a snake before, I suggest buying one from a breeder or pet store instead of trying to keep a wild snake alive, it definitely will not be as easy as you think.
